32 Degree Towel 3.5 5 17 17
A Life Saver Between change-of-life hot flashes and medication-induced flushing, I've had my share of discomfort over a period of more than a decade. I purchased this product several years ago and never travel without it. No, I didn't ever think it would be, literally, "32 degrees"; perhaps the marketing people erred in choosing that name! But friends have looked on enviously as I have been able to find some comfort in the Mediterranean, the Caribbean, and in recently the horrendously hot Midwestern U.S. summer of 2012, using this little portable heat sink.. Several friends have purchased them after trying this one. I carry a zip-closure plastic bag and fold it flat in my purse. It's always with me to use it during the night or in the daytime, and it dries quickly. It launders up easily (don't use fabric softener!). December 28, 2012
Super! Bought more for gifts This is one of the best products I have bought from TravelSmith! I am so enamored of it that I bought more for gifts. My pregnant friend has put hers in her "go-bag" for when she goes to the hospital in labor! My sister is going to drape hers around her neck when she sits in a hot computer room and when she goes hiking. I wear mine like a scarf when I do my physical therapy exercises and when I work in my yard. It is also one of the first things I pack when going on a trip. I used to have perspiration dripping down my face, but no more! I just "snap" my 32 degree towel and am "cool as a cucumber!" One could wear a bandana, but even if it absorbs the perspiration, it does not cool. Surely the reviewer who wrote negatively about the coolness did not really expect this towel to go down to 32 degrees. It is a brand name! i bought a less expensive brand, such as one might purchase from an infomercial, but it was nowhere near as soft as this towel! It was larger, but a square rather than this convenient scarf shape. It did have a handy plastic storage tube, but I can put my 32 degree towel in a ZipLoc bag and accomplish the same result. It also stated it can use any temperature water to activate it, whereas you do need to use warm water with the 32 degree towel. I like the fact that if you feel you need an increase in the coolness you can just "snap" it again -- no need to re-wet it. I rarely write product reviews, but this towel is really a "find!" Very disappointing This is the first TravelSmith product I have been really disappointed with. It did not work; I am returning it. July 8, 2012
Godsend! What a great find! Although this cooling towel would be a great traveling companion, and it will be the first item in my suitcase going anywhere, my mission in looking for a product like this was a little more grim. I have a rare, life-threatening illness that devours my body, mind, and spirit with drenching sweats. Even common air conditioning offers little relief. And frankly, I wasn't sure that this little "scarf/towel" would deliver much, especially when I read the direction to use "warm" water to prepare the towel. I am eating my words! I use warm water--it gets cool, no cold, immediately! I have it wrapped around my neck right now. I want to order more. Where are other colors, please?! What a great product for the price. Terrific value! Oh, and I don't remember any information that even suggested the towel gets cold to 32 degrees. Hello? August 13, 2011
Excellent product I'm very pleased with this towel. It gets very cool and is quite refreshing. The only drawback is that there is not a greater variety of colors. Orange and turquoise are not my favorites! May 27, 2011
Just Didn't Do It For Me We bought these towels to use at outdoor concerts during the hot & humid southern evenings. Never could quite get them to cool - if they would have worked they would be a lifesaver. May 23, 2011
works great I take this towel to Zumba - works great - better than any regular towel. It's light weight and I can tie it around my neck. The trick is to get it wet with really cold water to begin with. The coolness does last a long time. May 5, 2011
One of the BEST products I ever purchased! I completely disagree with some of the not-so-great reviews on this product. Not only is is activated with warm water (most other similar products require cold water), but it also stays very supple and soft, even after having dried out. I've wasted my money on other various, similar products. Now I own 4 of these towels, and have purchased more as gifts for family and friends. They love them too. My grandmother took my teenage daughter and I to Turkey, in the summer of 2009. We were in a group of 16 people, and most all of them were very envious of my 32* towel. Imagine a 4 hour hike in the mountains of Turkey, and my daughter and I were the only ones who stayed cool and comfortable throughout the entire trek (grandmother didn't join us for the hike!) And then on one of the little 'jumper' planes, my daughter developed a most serious headache. This 32* towel came to the rescue again. Thanks so much 32*. You have a customer for life!!!
