Below are insider tips on some of our favorites including restaurants, wineries, and harvest festivals of what many call America’s Tuscany.

The Bugay Winery, located atop Sonoma County’s Mayacamas Mountain range, was the site for our Fall 2009 catalog’s photo shoot. Our favorite Bugay wines: the 2007 Long Stem Rosé (perfect accompaniment to an Indian Summer meal) and the 2005 Cabernet Sauvignon, The Empress. Rich, complex, and well balanced, the cabernet was named in honor of the owner’s wife Reta, co-founder of Bugay Wines.

Celebrate the grape harvest at one of our favorite fall festivals, the Sonoma County Harvest Fair, October 2–4, 2009. Find your favorites among the 1,000 wines available for tasting, attend free wine seminars, or dip your toes into the world of wine by entering the grape stomping competition.
