Bush Poplin Convertible Pants 4.3 5 20 20
Wanted pick-pocket security I have a 35 waist which isn't offered. 36 fits fine. Ordered the regular length but inseam runs long - 32.5" and can't be modified due to the lower leg zippers. Exchanged for short length - 30"- which works ok. TravelSmith couldn't have been nicer- both shipments were made immediately and exchange was handled cheerfully. I would have preferred more zippers and hidden pockets but these pants are comfortable and don't look like I just finished a mountain hiking trek. For more security in Italy, I ordered pants with more hidden pockets...money belts do work but are not the most comfortable in warmer climates. August 19, 2014
Repeat User wants more colors I have purchased the cotton convertibles over the years. I am 5'9". the short size and waist offering is the main reason why I am a repeat buyer. This size fits me perfectly. I like the cotton version for travel and I think theyi are a little more dressy than the nylon. Cotton is cooler and safer on the body when sitting on a plane or car. I also use these at when I am at driving events where cotton or nomex is required. I zip off the legs when I am not driving. I did have a pair of The nylon which are great for activities where weight and the ability to dry fast is required, like traveling in a boat or dealing with wet weather. These pants have excellent construction and hold up well. I had one pair that I thought wore out prematurely and you replaced them at no charge. Another reason I am a repeat customer. These pants offer some zippered pockets that are some of the best protection against pickpockets in my travels. Could you please offer these pants in BLACK or return the GREEN color again? Please keep these pants in stock ALWAYS since they are a must have for travel. September 16, 2013
Good item for the price, It would be nice if you could get a better choice in color. August 29, 2014
Amazing Warranty I just bought a few pairs of these pants last November. In January, my wife wanted to lose weight and I joined her. I went from a 38 to a 34, but I could not have these pants taken in by a tailor due to the fact they are Convertible pants and have all of those zippers to deal with. I called TravelSmith and they said they would warranty the pants. I explained there was nothing wrong with the original fit and the quality was great, so I expected to pay a little something. They said it is under warranty and I owe nothing. I've already got my new 34's and they fit great! An amazing company that would do that for you. August 7, 2014
Nothing Special -- Not Bad, Not Great These are my first pair of cotton zip-offs; I have always worn synthetic ones before. The pants are a bit baggy in the thighs -- manufacturers don't seem to understand that men with big waists usually don't have equally big thighs. I would love to see these pants with a classic elastic waist that would have let me buy the next size down; the built in elastic-and-button system only lets me tighten the waist. I took two stars off value because the pants are very expensive for what you get. August 10, 2014
Too Long They were too long, paid $25.00 to have them shortened. .Should offer them in lengths. August 8, 2014
Best convertibles I have several pairs of these pants because I wear convertibles a lot and these are the best I've found. Lots of secure pockets, material has great hand, easy to clean. I don't like that the length of the shorts has increased over the years but I guess they have to keep pace with everyone else. I use them for travel, work, and play. The only place they didn't work well was when we were in tick infested woods as there are too many places for ticks to hide. Other than that, I wear a pair almost every day in the summer because the the temperature changes so much here near the lake. March 25, 2011
Good product but could be better Good: The material was good quality. The waist fitted nicely, especially with the button tabs to draw the waist when it is too loose. Shortcoming: Sizes offered were short, regular or tall. I chose the 'short' as I am 5ft 7in tall. The legs were too long, about an inch too long. There was no way to shorten the legs because of the zippers. Pants should be offered in various in-seams. August 27, 2013
