Rated 5 out of 5 by My "go-to" travel pants I bought my pair of these pants several years ago so I hope they are still the same. I adore them. They have worn like iron. I am 5'6" and weigh about 140 on any given day and the size 10 is a great fit. I love them for travel to the tropics in winter because you can zip off the bottoms on arrival so you don't die of heat on the way to your hotel. Great hiking pants; they eat dirt and clean up perfectly when washed. They have a trimmer fit than my nylon elastic waisted pair so I don't look so bottom heavy in these. They are a sort of medium weight, not real heavy nor real light, which is good for me. Pockets are nice and roomy. Can't say enough good things. Except I do get a pat down when I wear them through the metal detectors. Don't know why; the zippers are not metal! Once in a while the lower leg has come unzipped when I have not gotten it on right, but I just zip it back on and it is fine. July 8, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Comfy....Fabric washes & dries well If you are a "Boomer" or not, that needs a fuller fit these Convertible Pants are for you. I'm 66 years of age, 5'3”, thicker in the waist & butt, weigh 175 lbs & very active. I ordered the Petite & had to let the hem down as much as I could, about 1/2" to have a comfortable length for my height. I would have ordered a Regular & shortened them but the legs have zippers at the ankle & that alteration is MUCH more difficult. The cotton Poplin fabric is of good quality that washes & dries well. If you are particular about little wrinkles & know what an Iron is used for, they may need a tad of ironing on the seams but you can easily get away without using that dreaded four letter word IRON at all :o ) February 18, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by nice pants I have a couple pair of these pants from 2009. What I especially like is that these zip-off pants are more substantial than the nylon shells I can find elsewhere. Although the colors are described the same way they were in 2009, they are different. The 'olive' is browner than it was, and the beige is also somewhat different. I find this a positive feature, as I now have 4 colors. One caution: the 2013 size 12 fits like the 2009 size 10. I needed to exchange tghe first new ones I ordered. May 10, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great pants and I love these pants. I would also love them without being convertible. Love the fit, pockets, fabric. Want them the same style and cut BUT also without being convertible. July 8, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Perfect pants for Africa Love the fabric and fit. I had been looking at these pants because the mornings in Africa can be cool but the afternoons can be quite hot. To be able to pack one pair of convertible pants instead of one pair of long pants and one pair of shorts is ideal. February 12, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Love these pants! I have owned Travel Smith convertible pants for a number of years and have worn them out. It's so nice to have brand new ones and I love the color. It was called "olive", I believe, but they are a nice rich brown tone. The only problem is that they are a little too long for me (5'1"), even the petite, but I'm hoping that washing and drying have shortened them a bit. They are comfortable with lots of places for whatever you need to carry. Great for outdoor activities. June 4, 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by Glad I Purchased Them I've always been a little skeptical about purchasing convertible pants. These were my first pair and I love them they were perfect for our recent trip to the Galapagos Islands. The only problem I had is the zipper started to come unsewn at the end of our trip. Would like them in another color too. October 4, 2011
