Bush Poplin Safari Jacket 4.1 5 51 51
Great quality Love the 2 hidden pockets on the inside of the jacket. February 27, 2015
Skookum jacket! I purchased this jacket to replace an excellent LL Bean bush jacket which I'd had for years, didn't wear that much (but did take to Africa!#, and foolishly gave to Salvation Army when I left Miami. Now that I've moved out to New Mexico, I regret the decision terribly. LL Bean doesn't offer their jacket anymore, hence this purchase. I haven't actually worn the jacket in "field conditions" yet. #As an aside, I think merchants should wait a few weeks before asking for a review, to give the owner a chance to have used the item.# It is very well made and rugged. For me, the cons of the jacket are no zipper, it only buttons; no hood; and slightly heavy. All these are compared to my LL Bean jacket, which was a lighter fabric but rugged too. Pros are that it is roomy for sweater or whatever underneath, very well made, it is all cotton, and it seems like it will do a good job of protection. And it will look cool in Truth or Consequences #many desert rats there). The bar for fit and size didn't work however I would describe it as perhaps running slightly large. I have not washed it yet. Good quality, heavy fabric This jacket is a bit heavier than I wanted. The Medium fit me but was short-waisted and the sleeves were not long enough for me. I would have ordered a large, but because the fabric was a bit stiff, I didn't think belting it tighter would work. January 13, 2015
Nice Jacket! Good quality! I was expecting it to be tight, but the opposite, though I did get a large. I look forward to wearing it! January 9, 2015
Very large I returned this jacket, had wanted it for a long time but when I finally ordered it and found it (1) WAY to big (even in a smaller size the sleeves would be much too long) and (2) VERY heavy (and also very stiff), I returned it for a refund. Maybe in a Petite (someday TS will learn?) it would be a reorder. December 2, 2014
Too Big I would love this jacket but it is just too big. My husband wants me to keep it and have it altered but everything would need to be sized down. I am a petite medium & I thought maybe...but no. I am 5'2" and weigh 120 pds. I don't need this jacket until next Oct for a trip. If you could make it available in a petite size or an extra small, I would be ordering it! November 4, 2014
Runs large Allthough this jacket is very well made and has all the pockets that I would like, I will be returning it. Size S is too big for me,. I wanted a jacket that I could wear over a sweater but this jacket is still way too big. I am about 5' 3" and 115 lbs. and have broad shoulders so I am suprised that it doesn't work. October 10, 2014
If you are tall.... I ordered the xl in women's and the l in men's and am keeping the men's. I am 5 feet ten inches and I prefer the longer body length of the men's version. The sleeves are a little long but I push them ujp or turn up the cuffs once. The l in the men's is a little roomier than the xl in the women's which makes it even better for layering. I have several safari jackets and this one is an excellent version. The fabric and finish are very good. If you are shorter, the women's will be a good buy. September 25, 2014
