A little disappointed
I bought this bag and was a little disappointed at the size. I would love, love, love this bag if it were larger. It also needed some sort of padding placed on the srap so not to dig into your shoulder. The quality of this bag is great! I kept it & used it as a purse on a recent trip and worked out okay. If TS made this in a larger size I would purchase it!

Wow! this is it. The perfect gift for my wife. All the
pockets she needs to carry her stuff! Very well made,
right size to carry PDA,Kindle Fire, phone etc. I did good.

Well made and roomy
I've been using a small backpack for a pocketbook for the past ten years and this is a perfect replacement. It,s casual but looks presentable as a pocketbook. I have the olive which is more like taup. It has great pockets and the large inside pocket really holds a lot. Room for a book or Kindle. Room for small purchases. The fabric and handles are very sturdy.

wow... what a bag!
best bag i've bought in a long, long time... been toting it around for a few days, fully packed for taking with me on a cruise in two weeks... call it field testing the field bag... it passes every test i can impose with flying colors... i am going to love having this bag with me as i traverse the panama canal in a few weeks...

Wouldn't Be Without It
I didn't buy this bag originally from TravelSmith, but I have been using this field bag as a purse for more than 6 years, and I love it dearly. It holds everything I want to carry, and I love the side pockets for water bottles and the long strap to carry cross-body. People have stopped me and asked me about it. I was thrilled to see it now in black, and ordered this new color from TravelSmith - one of my favorite companies.

Pulling a rabbit out of a hat and more
Where to start? Ultra Lightweight. Great compartments which can hold water bottle outside bag and sunglasses. Secure interior compartments. Shoulder strap adjustable for crossbody or side use. Leather trim and khaki nylon brings up style level. Have had people I barely knew compliment me on how stylish the bag is and ask where did I find the bag. Used nonstop for a year - shows no wear. Like pulling a rabbit out of a hat, I can carry most everything I need. When traveling, the bag tucks into my briefbag to meet the two carryon airline restrictions. Would be great if offered in more colors - this bag is a winner.

Cute and functional
I love this bag! I got it for a recent trip to South Africa and it was perfect! Worked great on safari, but was classy enough for Cape Town as well. Lots of room for everything, including a water bottle. It packed well in my carry-on for plane travel. I have gotten a ton of compliments when using it as my casual bag around town.

Great bag
I purchased this on the advice of my wife for a trip overseas. It worked so well for the trip I have been using it everyday since we returned. Wish I had thought of a bag like this years ago. I don't even mind when my wife asks if I have my purse. I just say I sure do! The size is great, the quality is superb, and it does hold my iPad when I want to take that too.
