Craghoppers Kiwi Pants 4.1 5 29 29
High Hopes But Disappointed Many things about these pants are terrific: multiple pockets, some of which are zippered; elastic at the waist that tightens up the generous fit; water repellency; and so on. The problems are these: (1) The color I purchased, labeled "bark brown," isn't remotely true. The actual color is somewhere between grey and green. (2) The inseam I purchased, 29 inches, is true in a literal sense, but the cut of the pants is such that they are about two inches longer than the inseam dimension suggests. (3) The one cargo pocket is very large and located on the right leg, which makes the pants lopsided. (4) The material is very thin and crinkly, which creates a sloppy look, resembling pajamas rather than trousers. August 12, 2014
Great Pants Saw these and I was looking for a light weight yet rugged pair of pants for a trip to Ireland. I received them and they are as advertised with lots of pockets and very comfortable. I'm slightly slim built for someone 6'1" and they will fit someone with a heavier build, I ordered the 33" inseam as I usually wear 32" and it is 34" or longer so you should order the 31" as it will probably be at least 32". They are great pants. August 20, 2014
Almost Perfect These pants are just what I've been looking for -- Good fit, soft, lightweight, no-wrinkle material. A perfect everyday casual pair of pants. Until I put my hands in the front pockets. They were so short that I was afraid to put my pocketknife and keys in them. There was another set of pockets with a zipper but they were just as short. I've bought a lot of pants from TravelSmith over the years and have never had one that didn't have a full, deep front pocket. I would probably buy these pants in most of the colors offered but not until they fix the pocket size. May 16, 2014
Crag Hopper threads Nice pants that fit well & feel good agains my skin. Good value for the money but not perfect. Front pockets are a bit shallow but it is easy to use the zippered front pockets instead. There were many untrimmed threads, pulled bobbin threads & one Merrow seam protecting cut fabric that ran right off the material. There was an open corner seam on the cell phone pocket inside the thigh pocket All got repaired when the cuffs were sized with less than 15 minutes added. The material handles well in a sewing machine or with a handheld needle.. March 27, 2014
Finally an outdoor pant in Navy I have found these pants to be comfortable and easy to maintain. I liked them so much I purchased an identical pair three weeks later. July 8, 2014
disappointing pants When I received them they looked great for fabric, sizing and features. The first time that I wore them I discovered the main side pockets are too shallow -- coins, pocket knife, etc. fell out when I sat down. I have worn them 3 times in town (no stress) and washed them once. Threads have started to break and seams (bottom of pocket, zipper and leg) have started to open. The thread appears to be weak and tension was apparently wrong on the sewing machine June 9, 2012
Great pants for travel This is the second pair of these pants for me. I wore the first pair almost exclusively during a 6 week adventure in Ecuador and the Galapagos. They are well organized with enough pockets including two zipper pockets that made me feel more comfortable in high pick-pocket areas. They washed easily and dried quickly. My main criticism is that the side seam pockets are a little too shallow and I lost my space pen because of this. But after adjusting to using the zipper pockets behind these, I was okay with that shortcoming! On the first pair I received, there was a sewing mistake on one of the pockets that missed their inspectors. Fortunately, TravelSmith's policies made exchanging them very easy! I have begun wearing these instead of jeans or khakis for everyday - not just for travel. Highly recommend! September 10, 2013
What I was looking for I officiate track meets and needed a new pair of blue pants that could provide utility, comfort and some resistance to rain. So far, these pants are just what I needed. What I had been using previously were thinner nylon pants, and they were not comfortable in this cold spring. The Craghoppers have just fit the bill. As others pointed out, the regular side pockets can easily spill out the contents since they are so shallow, but I just use the zippered pockets next to them. May 20, 2014
