Rated 4 out of 5 by Good Value Travel Jacket I have been looking for a travel blazer as go-to for frequent business trips and finally settled for this. It isn't a blazer--very casual--but it's quite adaptable and would do in a pinch for a blazer-stand-in. It's very light, but won't be all that great for summer wear since the water resistance makes it hold body heat and perspiration in if you're rushing through a big airport for a transfer. It's very packable, however, The pockets are wonderful. And the price isn't bad. I'm glad I bought it. April 26, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by A great lightweight jacket for travel My husband selected this jacket for an upcoming business trip to Mexico. It fit perfectly and he really likes the fabric. It looks so nice on him too! January 29, 2016
Rated 4 out of 5 by Nice jacket but confused about the buttons I like the jacket, it's what i was looking for, a travel jacket that will sort of work as a balzer if you need it, at least you will get seated in a restaurant with it. it's not a stand in for a real blazer but I don't think that was the intention. I am curious about the inside buttons though. The 3 externat buttons on the front are obviously for closure of the jacket like every other blazer on the planet. but why are there smaller clear buttons on the inside of the jacket? these clear buttons are in the same spot as the regular outside buttone (except that these are smaller and on the inside). Do they serve a purpose? I am assuming they do have some function otherwise there would just be the underside of the lapel. Did they add these buttons just for decoration? I think they are a bit distracting as they show when you are looking at the jacket,,but maybe I am missing something. Anyone? June 5, 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by Spiffy rain jacket I like it. It's not exactly a dinner jacket. It's designed for rain. That said, it's a spiffy rain jacket if you don't mind jacket-length rather than coat-length. December 31, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great casual Jacket I just received the jacket-I have been looking at this item for quite a while. I am delighted with the jacket-it will serve as an outer garment during mild weather and also as a dinner jacket for most occasions. December 24, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great jacket Actually Travelsmith's description is pretty accurate. You can wear this as a sports jacket (although it would look pretty rustic with a tie) and you can wear it as an outdoor jacket (although the button front makes it not a warm as a zipper jacket). The various pockets hold a lot of stuff and it is way less dorky looking than a travel vest as a "wear on/ carry on." The cell phone pocket holds today's super-sized phones, but the hand warmer pockets are a bit shallow so it is best to put your keys in the patch pockets if you are going to be tossing the jacket around. The shipping wrinkles came right out with a few minutes in the drier. I have not had a chance to try putting it in the hotel bathroom while I took a shower but this should work also as it is 100% polyester. All in all, I am very pleased with this jacket. May 19, 2015
Rated 3 out of 5 by Not enough secure pockets Like all travel jackets (not only the ones from Travel Smith) this jacket doesn't have enough secure interior pockets. (In fact, it has only one - the others are not secure). When you travel as a family with two kids, you have four passports, four tickets, four boarding passes, etc., not to mention other documents, credit cards, cash. Also, the jacket arrived very, very wrinkled. I worked on it with my clothes steamer for at least half an hour, and it looks relatively decent now, but I wouldn't pack it in a suitcase. Actually, I bought it because I thought I could wear it on trips and then also, when we get there, to places like fine restaurants, concert halls, even the opera. I hope some day TravelSmith will invent a jacket that combines casual chic with practicality. I decided to keep this one, although it's not what I was expecting. March 17, 2012
