Stunning travel accessory
Let me begin by saying I hope TravelSmith sells these like crazy and makes a new color palette version EVERY YEAR.
Gosh, I love this piece. I saw it, and, in theory, knew I loved it.
It arrived today, so I can't comment on durability or wash-ability, except to say it is DRY CLEAN ONLY. (I may test that...)
First of all, sizing is VERY generous. I am a 12/14 with an hourglass figure--so 14 at the hip and bust (36DDD) but 12 at the waist. This vest, when worn like the two models in the photo, looks TOO BIG AT THE ARMHOLES where my bust usually requires a larger size. Thank goodness I sized DOWN to the Medium, because I can't imagine a Large! Because this fits in a very open way (no closures), I'd suggest sizing DOWN if you aren't large in the SHOULDER particularly!
The other thing that is amazing about this piece--and I can't believe I'm the first to mention this!--is that you can WEAR THE DRAPY NECK PART almost like a stole around your shoulders, thus hiding your upper arms. Since my preferred travel dress is a tank-top style, but my arms are a big jiggly, this is HUGE for me! I did not expect it, but I LOVE this feature.
Finally, the fabric is a bit scratchy. The photos do look ethereal, but the reality is not a floating-chiffon piece. This rayon has a dry-ish, scratchy-ish, linen-ish texture--NOT silk-like as I expected (purely from the photos.) I don't mind this enough to send it back, but I would really love to get a piece like this in something softer and swishy-er like silk. I think it will be wearable in summer heat, but it isn't a layer you will forget you have on.

Quality!
O.K...I confess....
Bought this for a trip to Chicago...it was going to be hot and I had to have something dressy...I never did wear it...a bit heavier than I'd anticipated..BUT, that said, it's a beautiful, top quality garment! (By heavy, I mean not suitable for the 96 degs we experienced!)
Yes, I'd recommend to a friend or even a gift. I'm sure I'll wear it...very versatile...dress up or down(ish)!

Glamorous & lightweight
Just beautiful, love this with slim fit denim and short sleeve T or tank top. The colors work with a lot of choices. I originally bought this in M but that was a little too loose around the armpit, and the S is great. (I am usually an 8 or 10) Nice and lightweight for Pacific NW, but was a little too heavy for New Orleans in July.

Love this vest
I wear this vest with black pants & 3/4 sleeved black shirt. It is an excellent work day out fit that I also wear to dinner/drinks after work. Excellent putchase!!!!!
