Rated 2 out of 5 by Now Making Arms Smaller.Doesn't fit I bought this jacket years ago.L...plum..perfect. I have gained weight. I went one size up in red the previous year..didn't fit in the arms..went up another size and still the arms were too small.. the large plum jacket still fits.. I wish i could buy from the manufacturer who sewed my plum jacket years i would have two great riding jackets to mix, match and wear. Bummed in Atlanta December 28, 2011
Rated 1 out of 5 by Such a disappointment I've been searching for an everyday/all occasion blazer to replace my beloved black nubby linen one that fell apart after years of wear. I was excited about this jacket because cotton velvet is a good wear-with-most-everything choice and because I liked the look of the longer length. Where do I begin: 1) very cheap construction; there are shoulder pads (who uses those anymore) that are sort of hidden by the overwide back of the button/buttonhole (sorry, can't think of the name). They cannot be cut out because the flap is sewn onto the shoulder pads! It may seem trivial but it would look terrible if the jacket were removed and draped over a chair. 2) the buttons on the black one are an ugly faux tortoise shell -- ugh! 3) totally not suitable for travel as it has been hanging in the closet for 2 weeks now and it's just as wrinkled as when I took it out of the bag. It is going back as soon as possible. December 6, 2011
Rated 5 out of 5 by great jacket! Ladies with long torsos (or others who prefer long jackets): you will love this one. Great fit and very stylish, plus the color (brown) was true to that in the photo. Suggestion to Travelsmith: More LONG jackets, please! November 10, 2011
Rated 3 out of 5 by Variation in Size from color to color I purchased this Blazer in Black and the fit was right on. I was happy with the style, as it is very flattering. I decided to get it in Cognac and the fit was anything but accurate, like my previous order. The sleeves were clearly too small, whereas the torso (chest and waistline were correct). I read the previous reviews stating the same complaint, but I liked the blazer so much I decided to take a chance. Very poor workmanship from color to color!? I am in the process of an exchange. Hopefully it will arrive with no defects! October 28, 2011
Rated 1 out of 5 by Not even on sale... I bought the black and the cognac, expecting the fit and quality of my earlier riding jacket purchase a few years ago. Unhappily, the fit is poor, the jacket is unlined, the buttons are large and unattractive, and there are no inner zipper's just not what I expect from a "travel" jacket. I returned them. Rated 2 out of 5 by very disappointed i was extremely dissapointed with the sizing of the riding jacket. i first ordered the red jacket and really liked it. then i ordered an additional color and the sizing was anything but the same. there was 2 inches difference in the shoulders and at least two inches difference in the waist. So, consequestly, it cost me $18 to discover that the sizing was not consistent. i will never order again from this catalog as i cannot trust the sizing and as expensive as it is to ship these days, i cannot justify taking the chance. Rated 4 out of 5 by Fit differs with color ! I bought both the black and cranberry in medium . I usually wear an 8 or 10 depending on the cut and was surprised to find that whereas the cranberry fits very well, the black is like a size larger. I have experienced this before, and was told that different factories produce different d one cuts the cloth more generously than the other. I LOVE moleskin, and although a lot of other reviews criticize the lack of a lining, I have 8 or more hip-length moleskin jackets I got at Coldwater Creek and Talbots, and NONE are lined . Rated 4 out of 5 by Nearly perfect ~ why no lining? First in cognac then in a deep red, I purchased this jacket. I am now considering black....but the lack of lining holds me back! Though I love the fit of it, I do not wear the jacket as often as I'd like either color ....simply because it would hang better with lining. September 20, 2011
