Short-Sleeved Scoopneck Indispensable Travel Dress 4.2 5 12 12
Fabric clings to everything; mint color off Liked the concept, and I have a few dresses similar to this already. However, found that the mint color has yellowish undertones, and therefore looked terrible on me (a "winter" from the "Color Me Beautiful" days). The other issue is that the fabric is very clingy, and across the bust shows - well - everything. I'd need something that's slightly more forgiving. It's got to go back. July 28, 2011
Not my favorite style I didn't realize this was an empire waist-ed dress. (Hard to see details on a black garment available only in black.) It fit across the bust, but it just hung like a sack from the high waist band down. Not a good look for us big-busted gals! I'll be returning it! March 20, 2011
My Favorite Easy-to-Wear Dress I have had half a dozen Indispensable Travel Dresses since 1998. I have worn them and felt very elegant - especially in the black. I have a navy blue and an eggplant color also: long ones and shorter ones. I love the ease with which they wash (cold water, delicate cycle) and just hang up to dry - or if it's long, I throw it over the shower rod so it won't stretch too much. It lasts longer if you do NOT put it in the dryer, and picks up less lint. I vary the look with different scarves and jackets and feel fine, even though it's the same or similar dress each week at church. One downside is that after awhile, the black starts picking up lint.....but what can you expect after a few years! Also, I find the sizing and the shape and the fit varies. One dress the small fits, the next an extra-small fits. I have a medium- just wear a belt with it, and a small that is cut so straight i had to give it away to someone with a different shape. This time, I ordered several different sizes and returned those that didn't fit. Usually, I'm a size small for tops and medium for bottoms. I was able to keep the small because the flair fit around my hips just fine. This time, I got the Emerald and I'll see if I like it as well as black. Last, if it's over 80 degrees it can be too warm, especially if it is humid. If you will be in air conditioning, probably won't matter. For the wrinkles that look like they'll never come out from being in the bag: Most will hang out. For those that don't - Don't bother ironing: I sprayed the wrinkles with a spray bottle of plain water to get them out. Works like a charm and the dress had dried by the time I was out of the shower. Great dress Bought this dress as a last-minute addition to my travel wardrobe for 2 weeks in Paris and Dublin. Fits like a dream for me - packed in a very small space; looked great and I am delighted with it. October 15, 2010
I Travel Dress These are the best dresses I've ever owned. It is most versatile. It goes with many options and has become by far my favorite dress. I'm just now replacing the ones I bought 10 years ago! They are great for travel, but I'm so impressed with the ease of wash/dry/hang with NO wrinkles, that I'm wearing them everyday! Don't hesitate to buy these. October 8, 2010
Not True to Color This dress was true to size but not to color. I ordered cherry red which I felt would be brighter (as opposed to the other red offering). The color was dark and dull. I also had a problem with the heavy polyester fabric. September 24, 2010
Travel Dress I have purchased your travel dresses for about 15 years and was very disappointed with this dress. In the past your dresses have been wash and dry in the dryer; however, you have now changed the fabric and the dress has to be laid flat to dry. To me this defeats the purpose of a travel dress dry. I have returned the dress. If you change the fabric to where you can dry in the dryer I will purchase your dresses again. August 30, 2010
