TravelSmith 360 Degree Spinner Rolling Carry-On with Free Tote 4.5 5 111 112
360Degree Spinner Ultra-Organized Rolling Carry-on I LOVE this set! I have the previous incarnation of this luggage, have taken it around the world several times and it's been a favorite. This new version is even more amazing. The swivel wheels allow it to easily pass down even regional jet aisles (and crowded boarding areas) sideways. the net pocket fits a water bottle, rolled magazines or umbrella perfectly with easy access. The heavy zippers and ergonomic pulls operate smoothly and are easy to grasp. I can lift it easily, even when packed for a 7 day trip (it has a multitude of packing helpers built-in), into the overhead, and both it or the tote will fit under the seat. I can get my purse, laptop bag, camera and all my essentials for longhaul flights in the roomy tote (keeping me within the 2 bag boarding limit), which piggybacks beautifully so I never have "travelers neck" strain. I have the black patent (because it is BEAUTIFUL), and will probably order the ballistic cloth version as well for travel to more rustic locations. Score TS! November 6, 2010
GREAT Travel Set WOW I got the red patent 2 piece set just before a 6 day round trip coast to coast for job interview. Not only did this combination of bags hold everything I needed, I got loads of complements too. Day after it arrived I took it to a local sign shop and had a heavy duty vinyl "monogram" in black put on the front of both pieces. Looks terrific! In the tote I put my laptop, my large straw handbag with it's usual contents, bags of trail mix & water for the flight. In the rolling bag, I had 2 pairs of shoes, gown & robe, unmentionables, a swim suit, 2 slacks and several mix and match tops, plus a couple of scarves to dress differently everyday, and my cosmetics bag. My companion traveler even commented on how many outfits I had out of that small bag. Of course several pieces were Travel Smith items that roll up tightly and then shake our with no wrinkles. All this and it is a breeze to maneuver and stow overhead. PS. I am anything but petite so these were large size clothes. LOVE IT, LOVE IT, LOVE IT June 3, 2014
Essential Travel Bag I bought the black patent quilted bag and it looks very fashionable, often eliciting compliments from strangers. On a trip last week, a woman in the Atlanta airport and another in a Los Angeles hotel asked me where I bought it and took the Travel Smith website address to buy one for themselves. This is my second bag, it is slightly smaller than the earlier version and the wheels easily rotate in all directions, allowing me to roll it down the aisle of the plane lengthwise without picking it up. It is very roomy inside, with room to put my laptop inside it along with other electronics (iPod, GPS, eReader) and any number of other items. Two things I would change: (1) the zipper on the main compartment does not align properly with the back part of the zipper, making it difficult to zip, and (2) it needs a water bottle holder on the outside of the case. The zipper on my first case malfunctioned, also, so this is a design problem. When this case wears out, however, I will certainly buy my third case. January 25, 2011
GREAT CARRY ON SET I love this set. I doubt the wheeled part would fit under the seat but the tote sure does. Since the tote has no dividers just use the zippered plastic organizers or packing cubes inside and it works fine to find things you need to access easily. This was perfect for a 3-4 day trip and I would like to use it all the time even for longer trips to avoid checking bags. Rolls great on hard surfaces, on carpet it is better to drag behind with only 2 wheels. Handle had no issues and stayed in place wherever it was set. Wheels down the airplane aisle with ease and fits in overhead with tote under the seat. Zippers worked fine. The shipping carton said color was navy but it is a bright royal blue. I got lots of questions about where I got it. Best luggage I have found for carrying on since you can have two small pieces instead of one larger piece. Great find!!! August 7, 2014
Love It! I just received this bag today in the black patent. I bought it to use as a carry on for our trip to Europe for a 12 night cruise. The small outside front zipper will be perfect for travel documents. The larger outside front pocket fits my iPad with case comfortably with room for pens, Chapstick, hand sanitizer, etc: things I may need to get to easily on the plane. The inside seems the perfect size for a bathing suit, pj's, pair of shoes and a few outfits, in case our luggage is delayed or lost by airline. The main reason I chose this is for the size. It has the slot on the back so that it can fit on top of regular full size luggage. This is important for us, as we have an early flight after our cruise and will be carrying our luggage off the ship ourselves early in the morning with cranky teenagers. I also love the tote that came with it. I plan to pack it in our suitcase in case we return with lots of goodies! May 23, 2011
Disappointed This bag was exactly the size I was looking for. I wanted something smaller than the usual 20-21" carry-on bag, but I didn't want a computer bag or garment bag. The material and interior were good quality. I wasn't thrilled with the pouches at each end of the interior. They seemed to take up too much space. The fold up tote was heavy canvas which implied it would wear well, but it was heavy to carry even when empty. What convinced me to return it was the slide up handle. It had too much 'wiggle' to it and only held in place at the upper most position (which was too high to be comfortable for me... I'm 5'6") And the wheels didn't work well if I tried to use it on only 2 wheels like in the picture. I ended up returning this set and then I found a Delsey Helium bag in the same basic size for about $80 and the handle holds at 4 different heights and the wheels move easily no matter how I pull the bag. Love this Bag I have been looking for a four wheeler to carry my CPAP machine for air travel. This is perfect for that, with room for other carry on items. This color blue is almost intoxicating! There are way more bells and whistles than I would ever use but it is a great size for carryon. Nice quality. And the "free" tote is huge. It has a strap that makes it fit nicely on the pull up handle. And it also has rings that a strap (included) can be attached to for hanging over the shoulder.. I think the designer of this bag thought of about everything! July 20, 2014
Not for me I was really hoping to love this bag. Had been looking for a cabin bag with spinner wheels. And while this bag is very attractive, it did not meet my requirements. I thought a bag that had a front which unzipped and opened up would be a good thing. Turns out it made it more difficult to pack because I found it difficult to zip it back up, and I didn't fill it up. When full, I found the bag to have a tendency to tip forward and the wheels difficult to maintain going in a straight line. There was a lot of strain to steer it. On more then one occasion when maneuvering around a corner, I found the bag tipping over and me nearly with it as I tried not to trip over it. And last, fitting this bag under the seat in front proved to be frustrating experience. The spinner wheels push it out taking up leg space and I tend to fly business class where there is more room. I can't imagine it would fit under a coach seat. It can be in an overhead bin but as a short person, I avoid that. Hauling luggage over my head is an invitation to disaster or a wrenched back. I do greatly appreciate TravelSmith's easy return policy, which I will be using. And while I will return this bag, I will continue to shop with TravelSmith. June 18, 2014
