Rated 5 out of 5 by works! As an airline pilot who flies a lot of long-haul routes with many 12 -17 hour ocean crossings, I encounter long periods of sitting despite adequate rest opportunities. After trying these socks on several trips now, I am convinced that they improve blood circulation in the legs and inhibit swelling. Even though I think the socks are way to expensive, they may be necessary to support my vascular health. Due to the high cost I am only wearing them during the long flights to get more time out of them. October 6, 2011
Rated 4 out of 5 by Good Insurance I have taken these TravelSox on several 10-hour flights and have never had a swelling problem so I believe they are good insurance. My wife always 'borrows' a pair of mine for the flights. We can feel the graduated compression... Which is a good thing on the flight but I find them difficult to put on and to pull up over my (heavier) calves since the top section has the most compression. One can wear these sox for daily needs on-tour because standing around demands extra support, too; however, the fabric is thin (washes and dries very well) but does not provide much padding for walking. I take Coolmax-blend walking socks for most of my daily wearing needs. April 7, 2011
Rated 5 out of 5 by Support and Style Wearing these socks on a trans-oceanic flight gives me the confidence of knowing that my circulation is being aided. June 17, 2015
Rated 4 out of 5 by Good socks despite some fit issues I must have the fattest legs in North America because every knee sock I try is too tight at the top. I routinely find the stitching where the top folds into a cuff and remove it. With these socks that does the trick, thank goodness, though I do still have to get a size too large for my foot to accommodate my enormous legs (which really do not look much bigger than normal). That said, I do like these socks: they are more substantial and easier to put on than compression stockings but not as thick as Jobst compression socks, which require me to buy shoes a half size larger. The socks are comfortable and, once I make my alterations, do not bind at all at the top as most socks do. I'm going to buy more of them and get rid of some of the leg-stranglers in my sock drawer. Rated 5 out of 5 by Your feet and ankles will thank you I am a frequent traveler on long flights. My feet and legs often swell so much that my shoes don't fit after the 6 hour plus flight ( and I have skinny feet and legs). I bought these after a vascular surgeon friend said that he never flies without them. I bought a pair before my last trans Atlantic flight and they worked well. I am a fashionista and these do NOT look great but I put them on when I boarded and took them off before I got off the plane. Don't buy them for looks. Buy them for function. July 15, 2010
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great socs I wear a women's size 9 1/2 - 10, am 5ft, 8 in tall, and the M is great. I got a large 1st, and sent it back for a M with no hassles what so ever. I am on my feet all day and have a little trouble with swelling and my legs ache at the end of the day. This soc helps so much that, in spite of them being pricey, I am getting 3 more, and plan on wearing them regularly. They seem heavy enough that they should last a long time, and not get holes in the toes. October 30, 2011
Rated 5 out of 5 by Best purchase ever Bought these socks to wear on a 14 hour trip to Beijing. When I arrived my feet and ankles were not swollen. On return trip did not wear them and my feet and ankles were noticibly swollen. Will never fly without them. November 5, 2010
Rated 4 out of 5 by Please Remove the Logo! In my job as a teacher, I end up spending many hours at a time completing paperwork on a computer. My feet can really swell when I have to do this, and I love the way these socks keep the swelling down. When I first began purchasing these socks there was no logo on the side. I generally wear quite long skirts to work that cover the logo, but a few of my skirts aren't quite long enough to do so. I'm not as ancient as all this makes me sound, and I have actually gone out of my way to purchase boots, just so I can still wear the socks with my not-quite-so-long skirts without looking like someone's invalid grandmother! Really, I can't imagine that the potentially embrassing logo enhances the product in any way. Please consider redesigning the socks without the logo. November 2, 2013
