Voyager Knit Top 4.6 5 88 94
Nice alternative to a shell This is a very nice shirt. It compacts nicely for packing but the fabric is not thin. I was pleased especially with the cut of the shirt. Very few lightweight shirts actually have sleeves anymore. I prefer something more modest and this fits between a shell and a sleeve. The sleeve is short enough to fit under a jacket or sweater without feeling bulky but if you do want to take your jacket off you don't have to worry about your bare arms (Something those of us who are a bit older often do.). The other thing that is particularly nice about the shirt is that it hangs nicely. The gathers at the neck and the cut enhances your waistline because it shapes but does not cling. Of course, it washes well and packs into nothing. I am very happy with this purchase. September 27, 2010
How do I love these... ...let me count the ways. 1. I love these shirts enough to have purchased just about every color/pattern there is! 2. I love these because they pack down to virtually nothing, come out of the suitcase wrinkle-free, wash in the sink and dry in no time at all. 3. I love these because I can wear them during the day with TravelSmith pants or a skirt *Updated Ultimate Twill Skirt is my current favorite* and, especially the jewel-toned solids or black, at night with a Voyager Knit pant and jacket (which I've had for years!#. This means I can #and have) pack for a 10-day riverboat cruise in a carry-on suitcase. 4. I particularly love the shirred/rounded neck, although I do have a couple of V-neck styles, because I think they are more versatile. 5. I do love the fabric -- yes, it is lightweight, but that's what makes it so packable, washable and wearable in all climates #either alone or with a jacket or sweater). You do need to be careful of snags - after all, this is a lightweight, manmade material. Just try to keep it away from rough purse straps, etc 6. I love this shirt enough to pay full-price -- although I do look for sales! July 3, 2013
Complements Galore I have received a complement from someone every time I have worn this knit top. It is comfy plus and looks great when dressed up or down. I am a 38-39" bust and the large worked well for me across the chest and hips. Don't hesitate to purchase. July 17, 2010
Perfect shirt! I bought 2 of these when they were on sale, and I certainly got a bargain. I bought the brown color and the paisley and I think both are wonderful. The paisley works with virtually any color, from turquoise to olive green to brown to black or even red. They are lightweight yet sturdy, and definitely do not cling. I recently wore both around Disney World in hot temperatures and the shirts never felt sticky or made me overheated. The scoop neck is right between too-covered-up and not-modest-enough, and never showed my bra straps. I like the sleeve length but can understand the wish for them to be longer, or at least to come in a 3/4 sleeve or long-sleeved version. Highly recommended! If they go on sale again, I'll buy more colors! September 28, 2011
Perfect, in every way, top This top fits well, it is carefree and travel friendly. Inadvertant stains do not show. I feel good about myself wearing it. The top also hides potential body flaws. I bought one in a different color as well. It is really the only type of material and cut to be care-free in. Please show us more of those! May 7, 2010
love this top I love this top, the color, the way it travels & line dries. The only problem is it can snag. The first one I purchased was snagged when I got it to close to one piece of luggage that had a bad edge. As soon as I returned home from my trip I purchased a replacement top & now because of the sale I have a third one, yes same color, same style. One is still in the package as a backup. I love this top! I love the fit, the feel of the fabric, the colors and the style. And I've found it goes with so many different colors. Very versitile and will be great for traveling - will pack very well. June 19, 2010
Summer Paisley has my travel wardrobe colors! I'll start by stating that I PREFER natural fibers for my wardrobe... but I will be traveling extensively this summer, so I am going to do more hotel room sink laundry than ever before. That got me looking at polyester... The Summer Paisley color looked really good on my monitor, but we all know how inexact the process of color matching clothing from a computer monitor can be. I'm happy to report that Summer Paisley does contain brown, gold/tan, teal blue/green, a dark RED (not orange), and also a mossy/olive green shade that I always love to wear but couldn't detect on my computer screen. Pretty much perfect to go with my existing travel wardrobe. I have a very hourglass figure, so I almost ordered a Large on this top, but am so happy I opted for the Medium. Even with my ample bosom, there is nothing overtly sexy about this top. I'd say it fits me neatly at the shoulder (expected) but also the bust (thought it would be tight) and is a bit LOOSE at the waist. I wear a 36DDD and size 12/14 pants, just to give an idea. (My waist is a 12, but hips often need a 14...) I am young enough and fit enough that I do more often choose a fitted stretch t-shirt over a blouse-y one. This top would be LESS FITTED by my standards, but is in no way boxy. Like others, I wish this came in a V-neck version. This neckline is acceptable to me, and perhaps good for travel and keeping more covered up to draw less attention or wear to more conservative locales, but a v-neck is my usual choice. Also, this scoop neckline is slightly WIDER than I prefer. (The straps of a tank top I had on already showed at the neckline when I tore open the TravelSmith package and popped the Voyager Knit Top on in my living room.) I would rather have a deeper, narrower neckline so I can wear any bra I own, and I think some of the wider straps on my most robust "full figure" bras might peek out just a touch. A normal bra should be covered completely, however. Add me to the chorus calling for a 3/4 sleeve version, too! I just got this top today and tried it on, so no comment on washing or wearing. I'll be crossing America by train, then all the way up the west coast, then crossing Canada by train and ship, so a couple of months from now, I will know EXACTLY how well this Voyager Knit fares (and whether to order more coordinating pieces from this line!)
