Loved that these versatile convertible pants come in petite sizing! Good fit. 100% cotton means they'll be cool enough for African safari. Wish they also came in gray in petites sizing.

nice pants
I have a couple pair of these pants from 2009. What I especially like is that these zip-off pants are more substantial than the nylon shells I can find elsewhere.
Although the colors are described the same way they were in 2009, they are different. The 'olive' is browner than it was, and the beige is also somewhat different. I find this a positive feature, as I now have 4 colors. One caution: the 2013 size 12 fits like the 2009 size 10. I needed to exchange tghe first new ones I ordered.

Don't Hesitate
I wondered if these pants were as good an idea as they seemed. And the answer is yes, based on a recent journey -- they were comfortable, adaptable, and perfectly okay looking. They hand-washed well -- and dried quickly. There are lots of occasions when you go from hot to cool these days -- and these are a real help. The zippers work well, and these seem unusually well made.

TOO BAD ABOUT THE FABRIC...
I'VE TRIED QUITE A FEW STYLES OF CONVERTIBLE PANTS. THESE WERE NICELY CUT AND ACTUALLY FIT MY CURVY FIGURE--BUT--THE WAISTBAND WAS SET REALLY HIGH, SO THAT IT SQUISHED MY WAIST WHEN I SAT DOWN. IN ADDITION, I FELT THE FABRIC WAS WAY TOO HEAVY, AND EVEN WHILE I WAS WEARING THEM AROUND THE HOUSE TO TRY THEM, THEY WERE HORRIBLY WRINKLED IN JUST ABOUT 10 MINUTES. SADLY, I RETURNED THEM...THEY WERE ALMOST PERFECT.

I wear these all the time. I need big pockets at work which are really hard to find. Too bad they only come in one color.

Odd fit
They were too long for me. I'm 5'1". They also had an odd fit, so I returned them. I was disappointed, but I'll keep looking. They're probably fine for a taller woman who is a bit taller.

Glad I Purchased Them
I've always been a little skeptical about purchasing convertible pants. These were my first pair and I love them they were perfect for our recent trip to the Galapagos Islands. The only problem I had is the zipper started to come unsewn at the end of our trip. Would like them in another color too.
