Women's Plus Size Anywhere Convertible Pants 4.2 5 15 15
Convertible Pants Are A Wardrobe Staple These pants are super!. I wear them to work, camping, and travel. One pair covers both long pants and shorts. I am glad these pants have the shorts, because I would not have purchased them if the option was capris instead of shorts. I wear shorts when I am canoeing and long pants in the woods, to minimize insect bites. I own the grey, navy blue, and Khaki colors. Did not purchase the stone (white) color because I would have to wash it too often. These pants are light weight and strong. I took 3 pairs on a 15 day rail trip to the Canadian Rockies recently. You can wash them in a sink and they dry quickly or use a regular washing machine. I am glad you offer the plus sizes as this product (regular size) runs small. The x-Large is too small and the 1-X is just right. Those of us who are a little larger need pants like these so we can get out and excercise and lose the weight. These pants take up very little room in a suitcase. Because of these pants, I managed to pack everything I needed for my recent 15 day Canada trip in a carry on suitcase. Please continue to stock this item and add more colors. I can wear these pants from May through October in Minnesota. October 7, 2011
very travel-friendly Pants with zip-off legs are great for areas that start out cool in am's, warm up later, or when you are not sure what to expect. Very convenient, zipped off portion stuffs into a pocket or purse. Well made, comfortable. In interest of full disclosure, I worked for TS many yrs ago, wear their stuff constantly, have had some of the items for 15 yrs, hard to wear out! But easy to outgrow, so must keep adding to collection. Glad there are now more plus sized things. August 12, 2010
Comfortable These pants are very comfortable. My only complaint is that they don't come in petite sizes. They are very, very long. I'm 5' 3". June 25, 2010
Great for travel I just finished a 3-week trip to New Zealand and I wore these every day. They wash in the sink or in the washer and easily drip-dry overnight or can be put in the drier. The colors did not bleed out (I had the charcoal and navy). They are light and pack great. Highly recommend for travel. I'm a plus-size 2X and found the fit to be fine. The pants aren't tapered, so they don't look the greatest, but everyone I ran into was wearing this type of pant. Had no issue with the placement of the zipper on the leg, I'm 5'6" and the pants were very long, but easy to hem. November 30, 2013
Thanks Travelsmith for Stocking Plus Sizes Let's face it Ladies, for those of you who are Plus Size finding appropriately sized, comfortable travel clothing is no picnic. I needed pants to go on safari in Africa. Hot in the day and cool at night. The pants needed to be easy to rinse since we had a packing restriction on our trip. Since sizing can vary, I ordered a 2X and 3X from Travelsmith to check size. I usually wear a USA W18 pant. I'm 5-6" about 230 pounds. The 3X was ginormous, but I simply exchanged it, no-fuss for another 2X. I needed to shorten the pants by about and inch to a 29" inseam. The pants got a little tight around the zipper when sitting, but not uncomfortable, just unusual at first. November 3, 2013
Pants for Town & Woods These pants are comfortable, light weight, and durable. I ordered the stone color because in the tick months - it's easier to spot the little beasties before they come home with you. May 7, 2010
Excellent quality but unflattering cut The 2 for 1 combination of a pant and short is a wonderful way to extend a travel wardrobe and maximize packing space. The fabric is exactly what I wanted -- lightweight with a soft, silky texture. The construction is outstanding; I know these would last for years. The fit is slightly looser through the hips than the TS measurements, which is OK as I wanted these for a walking tour. However, the cut over the buttocks could not be more unflattering. From the side and the back, the fabric bunches and balloons out making my rear look 3x its actual size. Please TS, re-work the cut. These are dream pants waiting to happen. July 18, 2012
Live in these pants The Anywhere Pants were initially purchased for a trip to CostaRica where the high humidity meant slow drying after washing, but because of the fabric I could wash in the sink, wring by hand between towels, and they were dry in 60 minutes. Amazing! They went with me to China, where space and weight was a critical factor and scored well, and to Italy and Austria, as well as to Southern Italy,, Greece, and Turkey. For travel, these pants are a delight. I only changed out of them for more formal occasions on the cruise ship. At the time, I wore a 2X and the length was fine. But, over the years, with a total hip and total knee replacement, and then, spinal fractures, my body shrank in stature and the pants are now 5-6 inches too long. I changed my way of eating to fight pain and inflammation and lost 60 pounds, which meant that smaller sizes were needed for my girth and the pants fit in length. However, I need to wear a back brace all the time, which means I currently need a (Plus 1X), for the back brace, but the length is now about way too long. When I was able to get into an XL, the pants fit in length as well as width but those were a different line of Anywhere Pants of a heavier fabric and snap buckle. The snap buckle was easier to get into and out of in an emergency. I miss them. Despite the heavier fabric, that line of Anywhere pants still dried quickly. To remove 6 inches by hemming the pant legs runs into the zipper area for the shorts, which are needed during warmer weather and for exercising with Pilates. So now the pants are too long for me. Currently I cannot get into the XL, with the back brace, so I guess I need to lose a least another 10 pounds, unless you have another suggestion. I'm stuck with pants that are now too long due to my body's change in stature, which by the way is getting stronger and much firmer because of Pilates. Any suggestions? November 13, 2013
