Rated 3 out of 5 by Disappointed with the sizing chart I put my measurements into the sizing chart and was told to order a size 8. Well, I normally wear a size 4 (5'4, 125 lbs) but have never ordered from Travel Smith before so was unsure about their sizes. I ordered these pants in an 8 and the original fit twill pants in a 4. Guess what? The size 4 fit fine and the size 8 was huge. Just a warning about the sizing chart - order your normal size. Having said that, these pants seem to be made well. They are just too big for me. The fabric seems very sturdy, but is heavier than I wanted. March 11, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by My "go-to" travel pants I bought my pair of these pants several years ago so I hope they are still the same. I adore them. They have worn like iron. I am 5'6" and weigh about 140 on any given day and the size 10 is a great fit. I love them for travel to the tropics in winter because you can zip off the bottoms on arrival so you don't die of heat on the way to your hotel. Great hiking pants; they eat dirt and clean up perfectly when washed. They have a trimmer fit than my nylon elastic waisted pair so I don't look so bottom heavy in these. They are a sort of medium weight, not real heavy nor real light, which is good for me. Pockets are nice and roomy. Can't say enough good things. Except I do get a pat down when I wear them through the metal detectors. Don't know why; the zippers are not metal! Once in a while the lower leg has come unzipped when I have not gotten it on right, but I just zip it back on and it is fine. July 8, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by I really took these to a Safari! I think the quality of these pants were very high. I am older person so if I was thinner maybe my normal size 12 would have fit but as it was I had to go up one size. But I love the pants. December 10, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great hiking pants These zip-off pants/shorts are ideal for unpredictable weather and the sturdy fabric is perfect for a hike or safari. Well-made and comfortable. Highly recommend them. October 29, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Comfy....Fabric washes & dries well If you are a "Boomer" or not, that needs a fuller fit these Convertible Pants are for you. I'm 66 years of age, 5'3”, thicker in the waist & butt, weigh 175 lbs & very active. I ordered the Petite & had to let the hem down as much as I could, about 1/2" to have a comfortable length for my height. I would have ordered a Regular & shortened them but the legs have zippers at the ankle & that alteration is MUCH more difficult. The cotton Poplin fabric is of good quality that washes & dries well. If you are particular about little wrinkles & know what an Iron is used for, they may need a tad of ironing on the seams but you can easily get away without using that dreaded four letter word IRON at all :o ) February 18, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Very nice looking and funtional My devoted husband got these pants for me before we went on a photo trip. I particularly like the fact that they are not nylon. They fit comfortable in petite size. He says I look gorgeous in them and I'm also pleased with the way they look. They fit well, wear well and the convertible feature is a real plus for trips with cool mornings and warm afternoons. I've tried other convertibles that were uncomfortable when sitting on the zipper. These pants are comfortable. They work. It is best to take them out of the drier before they are fully dry so they will be less mussed. It would be nice if they cost a little less but overall, they are worth it. October 4, 2011
Rated 4 out of 5 by Almost Excellent I bought these convertible pants in the same color that I bought the Safari jacket in order to create a travel outfit for air and train travel. The pants' 5 pockets plus the jacket's 8 pockets allow me to carry just about all I need so that I don't need a large shoulder bag, tote bag and carry-on. I bought a size 10P because I'm petite-medium at just 5 feet tall. That size fit me perfectly and I had no hemming to do. I would have given these pants 5 stars if the unfinished fabric inside the right leg outer pocket had been hemmed or stitched so that that unfinished fabric doesn't unravel every time one washes the pants. Rated 5 out of 5 by Great pants and I love these pants. I would also love them without being convertible. Love the fit, pockets, fabric. Want them the same style and cut BUT also without being convertible. July 8, 2015
