World-Class Microfiber Sport Coat 4.3 5 25 26
A WORLD CLASS BLAZER I took this coat on an extensive trip to Europe visiting three countries. I traveled by air, rail and conventional surface travel. It exceeded in performance a similar blazer purchased two years ago from a high end department store at a considerably higher price. It was my standard dress coat for city wear and took a beating. It kept its shape and for all intents and purposes kept me looking sharp in a number of major european cities. It looked as good with jeans as it did with slacks. One of my best purchases. Beautiful fit and fabric, plus . . . The secret pocket kept my husband's passport secure when he was pick-pocketed in Naples. The thief managed to unzip the inside zipper pocket, remove cash from his wallet, return the wallet, and rezip the pocket as we were jostled by a crowd. But the thief didn't find the hidden pocket with the extra cash and credit cards, so we were able to continue to enjoy the trip with only minor inconvenience (and major annoyance). This is the only jacket a man needs to pack to look great on the road. October 5, 2011
looks great after 10 days of abuse Really happy with this sport coat. It is styled in such a way that the matching slacks make it look like a suit. So, it is very versatile. The only negative was that the first coat shipped ran very small compared to my wardrobe of 44Rs. It took two exchanges to get it right. Then, two trips to the tailor. However, once this was done, it was worth it. I just finished a 10 day business trip in Europe. This was the only sport coat I took. I wore it often. If not worn, it was smashed into my 22 inch case. Despite the abuse, it looked great at the end of the trip. The pockets are just right. I am very pleased with this purchase. February 11, 2012
Needs ironing Wrinkleproof means this jacket does need ironing/steaming. However, cut and fabric are great - comfortable. March 19, 2010
Good Jacket, Runs Small I ordered this jacket in my usual size (46L), and it was VERY snug--too tight and too short. I'd urge anyone considering this jacket to order at least a full size larger than what you normally wear. I'll see if the 48L does the trick (guess I've turned into a moose!). However, I can add a couple of preliminary observations: The fabric and construction seem to be of good quality. This is a substantial microfiber (polyester) fabric, so I'd expect that it would not be all that comfortable in a warm setting. I'd look at Travelsmith's tropical alternatives for something to wear in warm weather. I'd also second the comment(s) elsewhere that this is not a very stretchy fabric. Add this to a garment that generally runs small, and you have a little bit of a straightjacket effect going. Nonetheless, it seems a high quality piece of clothing, so I've ordered the next size larger in the hope that it will work! March 7, 2011
Great Coat; strange styling great fabric, well made; all good except a very strange and unflattering "cut". I thought I was buying a classic blue blazer something on the order of a Brooks Brothers or Ralph Lauren Blazer. Buttons on front are peculiarly high. It is unlike any coat I have; or have ever seen. It is peculiar. I have 30+ suits and sport coats - from traditional to Italian Cut. This one is different and not in a good way. An otherwise superior product made less desirable by peculiar styling. Good all around travel jacket I purchased this jacket for a trip to France. I thought it was a good all around travel jacket that can dress up a pair of jeans or look good with twill pants. Its a little heavy, so I wouldnt want to wear it in the tropics, but for cooler climates it was great. I thought the fabric was a little stiff, but it may break in well. Still a good rugged choice for the rigors of air travel. May 29, 2010
Always presentable, worry-free I have lived and travelled in eastern Europe and the Middle East for a dozen years and have worn several of these coats. I love them. The fabric is always presentable (even after sleeping on a plane) and the secure pockets give me great confidence. I carry my valuables wherever I want without a worry; that is real freedom.
